Meghan and Alex_4114 (5 of 65)Harpist and vocalist, Meghan Davis began her musical journey at the tender age of four. Her first exposure to the harp came on a family expedition across the Atlantic to her ancestral home of Ireland. Her formal harp studies began in New York City under the tutelage of Gulnara Mashurova, current principal harpist for the Singapore Symphony Orchestra. Following eight rigorous years of study, Ms. Davis began her collegiate studies at the Peabody Conservatory of Music of the Johns Hopkins University in Baltimore, Maryland. During her harp career at Peabody, she performed with the Peabody Symphony Orchestra, The Peabody Wind Ensemble, and many chamber groups.

In addition to her harp studies, Ms. Davis also received her Bachelor’s degree in vocal performance, making her one of a very few students to earn double performance degrees. During all four years at Peabody, Ms. Davis was a member of The Peabody Singers; the conservatory’s elite vocal ensemble. She made her Peabody Opera Company debut in The Marriage of Figaro, and she also appeared in The Tales of Hoffmann, and the world premiere of The Yellow Wallpaper. Upon graduation, she was awarded the Charles M. Eaton Prize for vocal performance, as well as the Azalia H. Thomas Prize for Music Theory, one of only two prestigious awards given at the graduation ceremony. Additionally, Ms. Davis was elected to the Epsilon Omicron chapter of Pi Kappa Lambda, an academically exclusive higher education honor society for music.

Following her studies at Peabody, Ms. Davis earned her Master’s degree in vocal performance at the Boyer College of Music at Temple University in Philadelphia, Pennsylvania. After graduation, Ms. Davis launched her career in the Philadelphia area, where she performed for over six years. In 2016, she relocated to Northern Virginia in the Washington, DC metro area, where her career has continued to flourish. Ms. Davis has received over a dozen awards over the past decade including six consecutive years of being honored with both the Wedding Wire Couples Choice Award and the Best of Gig Masters Award. She has graced the stage of some of the nation’s most revered venues, and has performed for several ambassadors, members of Congress, and even Taylor Swift!
